Check out some of the editorial spreads I designed during my education at Cal State East Bay University!
For this project I designed an editorial article on the hobby of gaming. This article would be featured in a magazine such as Game Informer. The desired message, or purpose of this spread is to inspire current gamers, as well as none gamers, to invest their free time doing something as enjoyable as submerging themselves in a world not of our reality. Using unique concepts, typography, as well as photography and script, I conveying what it is like to be apart of the gaming community.
This is a 2 page editorial about a type face that was created using automotive parts and tools such as socket wrenches, screwdrivers, nuts, and bolts. The name of the type face is Automatically Kinetic. The editorial piece is titled “You Have Motor Oil On Your Face.” This spread is to articulate a creative way of creating an interesting new type face.
The emphasis of this project is to showcase the illustration and layout of this article about the Swiss Army Knife utility tool. The text was take from the background information seen on Wikipedia. The illustration of the utility tool was done entirely in Adobe Illustrator and the layout for the article was composed in Adobe InDesign.
